Capstone Project
In-Between
A Vertical Parasitic Coliving Vision
By: LEUNG Kit Ying, Riley | Tutor: Daniel Elkin
The project is about compact co-living units offering users control over varied and Inter-connected space which propose an adjustable neighbourhood relationship.
The project focuses on design of a small prefabricated living unit with four vertically arranged volumes staggered from one another. These living units are arranged with shared spaces programmed to support co-living, in an arrangement that maximizes vertical and three- dimensional spatial variety. A flexible support space surrounds each unit providing expandable interstices to make dwellers’ personal space as varied and individual as possible.
The arrangement and interaction of plant cells in a tree inspires the relationship between units, which are placed together in a high-density area of the city to create an expressive urban living space.
